Landborgspromenaden to Sofiero

From Kärnan in central Helsingborg, you can walk north through beautiful parks and countryside, with wonderful views of the city and the strait. You also pass through the forest of Pålsjö before the walk ends at Sofiero. The distance from Kärnan to Sofiero is about 6 kilometres.

By public transport

Helsingborg is easy to reach by commuter train, such as Öresundståg and Pågatåg, which cover Skåne as well as running to and from Copenhagen Airport and Copenhagen. When you arrive in Helsingborg, take the northbound green city bus no. 8, destination Domsten or Hittarp. Alight from the bus at the stop Laröd Sofiero Huvudentrén. Bus no. 8 departs from Helsingborg C, among others.

By train

It’s very easy to get to Helsingborg by train. Sweden’s largest train operator, SJ, covers routes within Sweden as well as from Oslo, Copenhagen and Berlin. The regional train company Skånetrafiken operates between Copenhagen and Helsingborg, and also north to Gothenburg.

By car

From Malmö/Lund
Take the E6 northbound signposted Helsingborg/Gothenburg. Turn off towards Höganäs and road no. 111. Follow road 111 and turn left towards Laröd. Follow the signs leading to Sofiero.

From Gotheburg
Take the E6 southbound signposted Helsingborg/Malmö. Turn off towards Höganäs and road no. 111. Follow road 111 and turn off towards Laröd. Follow the signs leading to Sofiero.

From Stockholm
Take the E4 southbound signposted Helsingborg. Turn off towards Höganäs and road no. 111. Follow road 111 and turn off towards Laröd. Follow the signs leading to Sofiero.

From Kristianstad/Hässleholm
Take road 21 and then the E4 westbound signposted Helsingborg. Turn off towards Höganäs and road no. 111. Follow road 111 and turn off towards Laröd. Follow the signs leading to Sofiero.

If you are in Helsingborg, take Drottninggatan street going north.

By bike

Sweden’s first national bicycle route, Kattegatleden, is a 370 km route that runs all the way from Gothenburg to Helsingborg in a unique coastal setting. Along the way you will find interesting places to visit, good accommodation and eateries, bicycles for hire and service points.

By ferry

Take a classic ferry trip between Elsinore in Denmark and Helsingborg in Sweden. The ferries depart from Knutpunkten, Helsingborg C, 3-4 times/hour. The crossing takes about 20 minutes.

By air

To travel to Helsingborg by air, look for departures to one of the three nearby airports: Copenhagen Airport, which is an hour away by train or ferry; Ängelholm and Helsingborg Airport, situated 35 km north of Helsingborg and from where you take the train or airport coach to Helsingborg C; and Malmö Airport, which is about an hour away by car, coach or train
